Essentials
- Photo ID and insurance card.
- Any required paperwork (or confirmation numbers).
- Phone and long charging cable (6–10 ft is ideal).
- Small wallet (leave valuables at home).
- Glasses and case (skip contacts if you can).
Comfort + Recovery-Friendly Clothing
- Front-opening top (button or zip) for going home.
- Loose, soft pants or leggings.
- Supportive, easy-on shoes (slip-ons preferred).
- Non-slip socks (some hospitals provide these).
Post-Op Comfort Items
- Lip balm.
- Small travel-size lotion (fragrance-free if possible).
- Hair tie or headband.
- Face wipes or gentle cleansing wipes.
- Light snack for after (only if permitted) and gum or mints for dry mouth.
Optional but Helpful
- A small pillow for the ride home (seatbelt cushion).
- Earplugs and sleep mask.
- A simple note on your phone with: medications, allergies, and emergency contact.
- A front-closure recovery bra, only if your surgeon recommends bringing one.
What to Leave at Home
- Jewelry.
- Large amounts of cash.
- Anything you’d be upset to lose.
